Coronation Street Barbara Knox's daughter banned from driving.

The daughter of Coronation Street's Barbara Knox has been banned from driving following her arrest last month.

Knox herself was also arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after driving to Knutsford Police Station to enquire after her daughter.

According to reports, Maxine Ashcroft, 56, has been banned from driving for two years after failing a breathalyser test while driving her mother home following an afternoon out.

Ashcroft was said to have been three times over the legal limit at the time of her arrest.

Knox - who plays Rita Tanner on the ITV soap - was reportedly bailed from police custody pending further enquiries.

A Coronation Street spokesperson declined to comment, saying: "This is a personal and private matter."
